Sometime ago (on April 12th 2012), in a moment of wardrobe frustration, I created The 8lb Club.

Admittedly the club only consisted of me (although quickly joined by my sister, Thank you Sarah) with the aim that I basically needed to lose (at least) 8lbs in order to feel some way close to my old self. I needed to shed ALL the unnecessary chocolate bars and kettle crisps that I had consumed, by the online delivery truck load, over the past year, and return to resemble something of the Personal Trainer I had been in the years before. A harsh year of various trials and tribulations had taken its toll and left me not only in a vague depression but with a severe lack of regular training and a need to unhealthy food. It was time to claim my life back.

However, being the realistic gal I am, I am not one of those individuals with unwavering discipline once the ‘GO’ button has been pressed. Having witnessed many fitness programme and fitness promises, on both a personal and professional level, I knew that this path was well trodden in both directions and it was time to accept that. The 8lb Club was to give me some clarity on where I always am, and where I should be. I may not always be perfect, but I must always head in the right direction. However, when life goes a bit bonkers, not berate myself for wandering in the wrong direction some of time, always know I can return to other way too.

I did not want to start an extreme diet programme. I did not want to restrict myself to the point of being able to think of nothing but when my next meal was, life is meant to be fun, I just needed to know my boundaries.

So the 8lb Club rules were put in place and the journey began.

However, I quickly realised that this plight may be easier to monitor if it was the 10lb Club rather than the 8lb Club, why? Because if I lose 1lb I am at 90%. Easy on the maths, bonus.

Finally, the 10lb Club now lives, and if you want to join you can. It’s time to tighten up the belt and put confidence back in the vocabulary of me.

I have currently lost 3lb: I am at 70% (May 6th 2012). You can see my progress here. You can join the 10lb Club here!
